Tips For Using AquaBud
CLEANING & FIRST USE
AquaBud seal, drinking straw tube, and drinking straw tip are all made of food grade silicone. Please wash it before you use it for the first time! When it needs a cleaning, simply rinse it through with warm soapy water and rinse with fresh water (a few blow throughs with your mouth while running under the tap works well). AquaBud was invented to wrap around most plastic and glass water bottles (PLEASE NOTE YOUR BOTTLE SHOULD HAVE A MOUTH DIAMETER OF AROUND 25 MILLIMETRES OR YOUR AQUABUD MAY NOT WORK/FIT CORRECTLY). Another thing to take into consideration is as it is made with food grade silicone, it can be a bit slippery when wet. After you have filled your bottle with water and cleaned your Aquabud & drinking straw tubing, it is best to dry off your hands, the mouth of the bottle and the AquaBud seal thoroughly. This will make it much easier for you to wrap the seal on and get it secured properly.
GRAVITY AND WATER
The main thing to take note of with Aquabud is that gravity is a real thing and affects water wherever it is on earth! SO, make sure when you are not drinking out of your AquaBud silicone food grade drinking tip you velcro pad stick it or lapel clip it somewhere that is HIGHER than the mouth of the water bottle you are drinking out of. See below image...as you can see the stationary or resting position of the drinking straw tip is HIGHER than the mouth of the bottle as it is velcro'd to the nightstand.
WHAT IS THE VELCRO PAD FOR?
The velcro pad is so that you can keep your silicone food grade drinking straw tip in a convenient location for you to reach it when you would like to hydrate. As you can see in the above, the velcro pad was used next to someone's bed so that they easily drink water without getting out of bed. One could also setup their velcro on a table next to their couch or a recliner.
WHAT IS THE LAPEL CLIP FOR?
I have included in your AquaBud base drinking kit a microphone lapel clip. This can be used mainly in two ways: 1) Clipping your drinking straw to somewhere that you don't want velcro (i.e. a curtain next to your favorite lazy boy chair, the end of the couch, or to the collar of your shirt if you are on a hike or a bike), or 2) To one of the 4 "clover leaves" that are physically part of the actual AquaBud seal (see below photo as an example). Again, remember to re-clip your lapel clip HIGHER than the bottle you are drinking out of to avoid spillage ;)
